I thought that I should show you this amazing ‘Audrey’ jacket, which I bought recently from The Vintage Set! Dogtooth is everywhere at the moment – just pop into your local Primark, Forever 21  and New Look – and you can see that they’re swarming with this Coco Chanel-inspired print! I have also been eyeing this jacket up for a while now, and when the lovely Charlotte from The Vintage Set gave me a Blogger’s discount code, I just HAD to get my hands on it! It’s so chic and comfy – and it can be worn causally with my River Island flatforms (they were £8 – bargain!), or with my black Chelsea boots for work!

If you’re a vintage lover, I suggest you check out The Vintage Set for one-of-a-kind pieces! It’s cheap and cheerful too!

This month’s ‘From Catwalk to High Street’ focuses on how to achieve Topshop Unique’s designer looks for less!

The Unique team’s main focus for this season was textures – think velvet pants, leather-like pinafores, and sequin mesh dresses! Other key trends featured were chunky heeled Chelsea boots – these babies could rival the ever-so-popular Alvins – and of course the classic Autumn/Winter essential – woolly knits!

You can view a video of Topshop Unique’s Autumn/Winter 2012 show below:

The look below was chosen due to its simplicity – anyone can pull off a cross knitted jumper and some velvet pants! What’s more, this outfit can be worn as it is for during the day, or it can be dressed up with these Missguided Jeffrey Campbell-alike glittery black Lolitas and embellished crop jacket from Topshop for a suave special occasion!

Berty’s Cross Print Jumper, £14.99, Missguided – Everywhere you look on the high street there is cross print! From jumpers, to leggings, to skirts – it seems that this symbol has become a Holy trend in the fashion world! So it makes no wonder that the high street took note from Unique’s A/W 2012 collection, where crosses were heavily featured.  If you’re looking for a more casual feel, then look no further as this cross print jumper from Missguided will attend to your comfy needs!  Whether it’s for a lazy day in, or for a mean shopping trip, this knit will keep you warm for Winter!

Velvet Trousers, £135, Topshop – Velvet is massive this season with the likes of Burberry Prorsum, Peter Pilotto, and Topshop Unique featuring this smooth texture in their designs, so it is only fitting that this outfit was chosen for this month’s ‘From Catwalk to High Street’.  These pants may be pricey (well they are Unique), but they can be jazzed up with this smart pearl collared blouse from Zara for office-chic, or they can be paired with this River Island embellished vest and skyscraper heels from Miss Selfridge for a night out with the girls!

VERA Pointed Flatforms, £25, ASOS – Okay, so flatforms were so last season – think Meadham Kirchhoff and Christopher Kane, however if Unique think they’re Autumn/Winter material (they also had these babies in their S/S 2012 collection), then who are we to second guess? These gorgeous suede flatforms from ASOS are the perfect wardrobe staple and can see us through until Spring!

What are your thoughts on Unique’s A/W 2012 collection?

This week’s Wednesday Wishlist is a Miss Selfridge ‘must-have’ special!

From L-R: 1. Silver Lame Dipback Tee, 2. Black Floral Denim Hotpants, 3. Buddha Ring, 4.Petites Ombre Shirt, 5. Rhinestone Chain Loop & 6. Stud Front Dipback Tee.

1. Silver Lame Dipback Tee, £25 – Metallics were a key Autumn/Winter 2011 trend, but they are still clinging on for ‘trend-glory’ this season with Herve Leger, Givenchy and Sportsmax showcasing these futuristic colours in their S/S 2012 collections. I would pair this top with my Republic black leggings and my silver studded shoes.

2. Black Floral Denim Hotpants, £28 – Florals are always a trend which always crops up at this time of year, with designers such as Matthew Williamson, Mary Katrantzou and dynamic duo Proenza Schouler turning heads with their flower power pieces at their respective fashion weeks.  These shorts would look perfect with a simple white Topshop tee and Office’s pink underground creepers. For the current ‘clash’ look, which is popular with celebrities such as Diane Kruger and Olivia Palermo, team your florals with stripes or leopard print. For this trend, anything goes!

3. Buddha Ring, £6.50 – I was drawn to this Buddha ring because believe it or not, this religion is part of my heritage (I’m half Thai). I used to own quite a few religious Thai trinkets and necklaces, but over the years I have somehow lost them! This Buddha ring reminds me of ‘the other part of my life’, and it’s also gold, which is my favourite jewellery colour – so I HAD to include it in my Wednesday Wishlist! There were only a few left in stock the last time I checked so if you want to snap this up, then you have gotta be quick!

4. Petites Ombre Shirt, £32 – Ombre is BACK, and it is another trend which is set to rock in the Spring/Summer 2012 fashion stakes, with top fashion bloggers ‘ombre-ing’ their hair such as Lily Melrose and Olivia Purvis, to Charlotte Ronson and Louis Vuitton, who have sent dip-dyed pieces down the runway.  This would look great with bloggers favourite American Apparel disco pants and black high top flatforms.

5. Rhinestone Chain Loop, £25 – Collar necklaces were big on the catwalks of Sass & Bide and Oscar De Le Renta. Despite this necklace being HUGE and probably weighing a tonne, it’s still amazing in my eyes!  It would look great under the collar of a crisp white shirt.

6. Stud Front Dipback Tee, £35 – I am in love with studded clothing and accessories at the moment! Let’s just say it’s my ‘inner-Balmain’ which is luring me to this trend. This tee can be dressed up for the day time – with some Boohoo black wet look leggings and Chelsea boots, or it can be dressed up to the nines with some luscious leather shorts from Missguided and River Island black and white heels, for a night out with the girls!

What are your thoughts on Miss Selfridge? Are there any items which take your fancy?

ersonal

This is just a quick post about two new purchases that I made in the New Year. Enjoy!

From Top to Bottom: Leopard print boots – £35, Topshop & Black Chelsea Boots – £15, Primark

I have worn both of these boots religiously for the past week! You may have recognised the leopard print ones from my Christmas Wishlist last year! Well, I saw them in the Topshop sale a week ago, and I just HAD to have them!  As for the Primarni version, I have been craving Chelsea boots for ages, and to be on the cheaper side I decided to bag these babies when I went on a little trip to Sheffield this week. I know of plenty of bloggers who rave about and own Topshop’s allegras, but to be a little bit different (and cheap) I decided to stick with these ones for now.

What boots are you currently coveting?

Earlier this summer, former X-Factor star Diana Vickers launched her new collection on popular online fashion store; Very. The website, which hosts many ‘celebrity’ brands including Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton and TV presenter Holly Willoughby, gave 20-year-old Vickers a chance to design an Autumn/Winter collection for the store.

I had a cheeky look at Vickers’s new collection; Dee-V and I must say, I am very impressed with how fashion-forward the ‘Once’ singer is!

From current seventies trend, denim flares to two-trend sixties sequin dresses, it is clear that Vickers can now add ‘fashion designer’ to her ever-growing CV!

Here are some of my personal favourites from the Dee-V collection, with items clock-wise round:
Dog Print Playsuit, £49 – This dog print playsuit is so cute, and is a perfect transitional piece from summer to autumn! The playsuit has a vintage feel, and will be perfect for pairing with these brogues, which is another Autumn/Winter trend! This playsuit also oozes Diana’s eccentric and playful style, which I’m sure anyone can pull off!

Sequin 60s Tunic Dress, £49 – The sixties era is in trend at the moment with Fendi sporting patchwork furs and eccentric coloured tights as well as Prada who were working the 60s disco era with style! So it is no wonder why Diana has incorporated sequins, which were also another hot trend in the Autumn/Winter shows such as Diane von Furstenberg. Despite the colour (light lilac) not being to my taste, I love the sequin circle detailing on the pockets, so maybe if she expanded the colour range this would be right up my street!

Knitted Mini Dress, £49 – This knitted mini dress is oh-so-simple and elegant! It can be dressed down with some on-trend Chelsea boots for a day out shopping with the girls or it can be glammed up with accessories galore and a cheeky leather jacket for a dinner date with the man! This is what I love about Vickers’s style – it’s so versatile and you can create quite a few different looks with this garment!

So there are my three favourite pieces of Diana Vickers collection, let’s hope she has the chance to create a Spring/Summer 2012 collection which in no doubt will be just as good – or even better!
