IT’S that time of year again ladies! Here are The Live Scene’s top three party dresses for your New Year’s Eve night out!

nye21. Embellished Bodycon Dress, £89, Miss Selfridge – It’s the final day of Autumn/Winter 2012, so why not go out with a bang in this elegant embellished dress from Miss Selfridge? Embellishment is popular this season with Balmain’s collarless jackets, Jenny Packham’s shoulder encrusted dresses and Mark Fast’s intricately jewelled cover-ups turning heads at Fashion Week. Wear this dress with these nude heels from Bank to elongate those legs of yours, and finish your outfit off with some Barry M lipstick in Chestnut Red.

2. Light Purple V Neck Peplum Dress, £25, River Island – Designers loved the two P’s (that’s Peplums and Purples) this Autumn/Winter, with Prada, Gucci and Christopher Kane waving the purple flag, whilst Nicole Farhi, Mary Katrantzou and Burberry Prorsum took the peplum trend one step further with their exaggerated hip-line pieces. This River Island dress seems to emulate both of these trends – so for only £25 what more could you ask for?

3. Foiled Lace Skater Dress by Dress Up Topshop, £50, Topshop – Skater silhouettes were huge this season with Victoria Beckham, Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen including this cut in their A/W collections. Complete this look with these black Topshop platforms and some sexy smokey eyes, courtesy of Models Own.

I shall be wearing either a cobalt blue cut-out dress from Desire, or a Topshop smart cream blouse with Republic’s Miso PU leggings! Oh and not forgetting my killer black Primark heels!

What outfit will you be wearing this New Year’s Eve?

With Autumn just around the corner, what better way to prepare you for upcoming months than to bring you the high street’s hottest Autumn/Winter 2012 collections! Stuck on what to buy? Then don’t fret, as The Live Scene has picked twelve amazing items from three different stores, to tantalise your trendy taste buds!

From Left to Right: 1. Gold Zig Zag Dress – £49, 2. Floral Devore Kimono – £36 & 3. Lurex Pleated Cape Dress – £45.

Miss Selfridge’s A/W collection is oozing with fashionably delectable delights – including studded biker jackets, classic peplum dresses and gold zig zag printed dresses – yes girls, zig zags are back in fashion! Designers must have taken note when Scary Spice wanted to: ‘zigga zig ah’! Fashion Houses House of Holland and Meadham Kirchhoff featured this print on their raucous runways, from multi-coloured dresses to animal print furs. This £49 Dress is perfect if you want to emulate this trend without being ‘too out there’, like its designer contemporaries. This season also sees Spring/Summer’s tropical and colourful florals go dark-side, with Gucci and Emporio Armani including dark blooms into their collections. This floral devore kimono just oozes this new trend, which sent the fashion elite into a flutter! Team this kimono with an American Apparel plain white vest and some Missguided black leather shorts, and you’ll be blooming beautiful before you know it!

From Left to Right: 1. Red Tailored Ponte Blazer – £19.99, 2. Black & White Blackbirds Printed Tea Dress – £14.99 & 3. Red Jersey Skater Dress – £11.99.

Monochrome and red shades seem to be the colours of choice this Autumn/Winter; with Moschino, Versace and Just Cavalli working the bold black and wintery white clashes in their prospective fashion weeks, and Jonathan Saunders and Christopher Kane including bright pillar-box reds in theirs. Stuck on where to find such powerful contrasting pieces? Then look no further as with New Look’s A/W collection, you can have the best of both worlds with these three key pieces! The red tailored blazer and black and white printed tea dress can be worn together for a cool clash look, whereas the red jersey skater dress is perfect for those of you who want to nail two trends in one – skater dresses and skirts are still HUGE with Victoria Beckham and Stella McCartney sending their models in skater silhouette pieces down the runway. Invest in this capsule collection now, and you’ll be set for Winter!

 From Left to Right: 1. Mini Roller Hat – £25, 2. All Over Sequin Peplum Top – £32 & 3. Beaded Collar – £16.

Hats off to Topshop for their take on the ‘Top and Tail’ trend for this Autumn/Winter! One key accessory trend was headgear, which was everywhere at Fashion Week – from J W Anderson to Burberry Prorsum – so it is no wonder that these babies are featured in Topshop’s Autumn/Winter collection! This mini roller hat will see you right through from Summer (festivals, anyone?) to Winter. Peplums are still on trend, but they have grown bigger – just look at Alexander McQueen and Mary Katrantzou, who wowed the crowd with their exaggerated hip lines! This all over sequin peplum is perfect for the Christmas work do or for a night out on the town with the girls! And finally, last but certainly not least is the rise of ‘the collar’. Collars are huge at the moment with bloggers such as Lily Melrose and Nina Soares Dias featuring this trend on their popular blogs! This beaded collar is the perfect accessory for the upcoming months! Just place it over this chic light pink River Island jumper, and you’ll go from girly to grunge in seconds!

What do you think about these three amazing collections?
