This week I focus on Miss Selfridge’s vintage section and create three looks from what they have to offer.

According to Miss Selfridge, they ‘travel the world in search of vintage treasures’ and they’ve found some right gems too!  From embellished tops to classic Macs, these steals from the vintage section will nail the Autumn/Winter 2011 trends on the head!

Here are my three outfits below, with the items being from clock-wise round:

Outfit 1
VINTAGE!
Cream Cute Lace Blouse, £35 – This outfit is all about the new ‘ladylike’ trend which has emerged on the catwalks of 3.1 Phillip Lim and Jean Paul Gaultier. As ever on The Live Scene, I try to twist the trend to fit into my style. This lovely vintage cream blouse is ladylike in itself with the material made out of delicate lace (a Spring/Summer 2011 trend) and the burgundy bow-tie adds a touch of ladylike-meets-boyish glamour. At £35 this is definitely going to get snapped up by me!

VINTAGE! Petites Camel Peg Leg Trouser, £38 – This Autumn/Winter 2011 season, it’s all about the ‘modern trouser’. A piece which is the staple of your Autumn/Winter wardrobe that can be worn in so many looks. This camel peg leg trouser is my ‘modern trouser’, and adds to the ‘ladylike’ trend I am trying to achieve here. Designers ‘modern trousers’ include: Chanel’s wide leg trouser, Stella McCartney’s slim-leg trouser and Proenza Schouler’s print trouser.

VINTAGE! Secret Burgundy T-Bar Platform, £42 – T-bar platforms were one of the ‘must-have’ shoes on show during the Autumn/Winter 2011 fashion weeks. These gorgeous burgundy platforms match the bow-tie on the cream blouse perfectly, and elongate those pins of yours!

VINTAGE! Burgundy Leather Satchel Bag, £45 – I instantly fell in love with this satchel as soon as I saw it! This burgundy bag matches the shoes and the bow-tie effortlessly, and completes the outfit. This outfit has the perfect ‘ladylike-meets-boyish’ style which is what I was going for, and shows that you don’t need to be as eccentric in the ladylike department as Christian Dior to achieve this trend!

Outfit 2
VINTAGE!
Black Embellished Dress, £85 – Love, love, love this dress! At £85, it is a hefty price, however the dress oozes glamour (and don’t worry it’s not see through, there is a lining behind the embellishments!) The dress also reminds me of the new fetish trend which has appeared on the catwalks of Emanuel Ungaro, Chanel and the even sexier Felder Felder.  This dress is definitely a statement piece, which you can get a lot of use out of, as you can accessorize differently every time you wear it.

Khaki Animal Hood Parka, £85 – A parka you ask? As crazy as it sounds, designers from Alexander Wang to Joseph Altuzarra nailed this new trend perfectly. This parka from Miss Selfridge clashes with the going out dress flawlessly, and when you’re on a night out, what’s better to keep you warm? The inspiration behind this new trend is none other than supermodel Kate Moss. Kate Moss always likes to play differently when it comes to fashion, and when she wore her parka over her evening dress, the designers took note. With winter coming up, this would be the perfect but stylish cover up.

VINTAGE! Pearl Articulated Ring, £10 – Of course, I had to include a ring in This week’s wishlist! This vintage armour ring makes the outfit look more ‘going out chic’ rather than ‘morning after mess’. This ring with the studded shoes is all the glamour you need to accompany the dress, and at £10, this vintage piece is a bargain!

VINTAGE! Punk Leather Stud Ballerina, £42 – These punk studded flats are the perfect finish to outfit two. Not only do they match with the vintage articulated ring, they remind me of stylish savvies such as Nicky Hilton and Linda Evangelista. Definitely worthy of a purchase!

Outfit 3
VINTAGE!
Petites Sand Triple Collar Blouse, £30 – Outfit three is all about the boyish look meets back-to-school with a hint of colour-blocking. This triple collar blouse is the epitome of achieving the boyish look. By teaming it with the teal skirt, it will not only make you look on trend, but it can be dressed up for a night out, or it can be dressed down as it is for a casual stroll in the shopping centre. Think Dolce and Gabbana but more ‘out there’!

VINTAGE! Teal Knee Box Pleat Skirt, £32 – This vintage teal knee box skirt will add to the boyish meets back-to-school look I am trying to achieve here as well as highlighting the colour block trend. This instantly makes you look geek chic with the tan box bag and sunglasses as opposed to Plain Jane.

VINTAGE! Black Circle Frame Sunglasses, £3 – These simple sunglasses make the look more feminine, and because they’re only £3, no bargainista would say no! Nuff’ said.

VINTAGE! Tan Box Bag, £28 – This lovely and geeky tan box bag is perfect for achieving the boyish meets back-to-school look!  The dark brown border on the bag subtly matches the chocolate leather wedges and the brown belt on the teal skirt. The box itself is quite big, so it can fit your everyday essentials with ease. Practical AND fashionable… what more can you ask for?!

VINTAGE! Patsy Chocolate Leather Wedge, £68 – Last but not least is these beautiful chocolate leather wedges which finish the look off perfectly. The wedge gives you more height, and allows you to show off your legs a bit more, as well as making the look less masculine. At £68, these wedges should definitely have a place in your shoedrobe!

That is another weekly wishlist done; tune in next week where I will be scouring the New Look website to create three on-trend outfits for all of you budding fashionistas out there!
