When word got around about Topshop’s Secret Garden pop-up launch at the London Flagship store I was elated with joy but at the same time ridden with anger about living up north – especially as the pop-up shop is in store for a limited time only!

The ‘Secret Garden’ was created by eccentric duo Meadham Kirchhoff.  The ‘Garden’ sits behind a door which unveils hand-crafted and one-off products designed by prestigious London and New York designers in the Topshop store.

Hopefully I will not let this exciting opportunity to check out unique jewellery, shoes, clothes and ornaments pass me by when I travel to London next week.

In order to prep myself up for what I am going to devour, I scoured the ‘Secret Garden’ section of the Topshop website and picked off products to put on my ‘wish list’ – i.e. things I want to buy if I could afford!

Here they are below from clock-wise round:

Topshop Unique Blouse, £70 – This blouse from Spring/Summer 2009 London Fashion Week collection is just up my street. The Peter Pan collar is still a huge Spring/Summer trend, and to make it even more up-to-date it’s ruffled too! Even though this blouse is two years ‘out-of-date’ it goes to show that pieces such as this are timeless. Despite the hefty price, there are only 30 of these babies, so I would suggest snapping one up quick! I would wear this with a black skirt and black knee-high socks or dress it down for daytime with a pair of denim shorts and wedges.

Michael Van Der Ham Wedges, £95 – Speaking of wedges, as soon as I saw these cornflower and navy blue velvet wedges I fell in love instantly! They would go perfectly with the nude blouse for some on the spot colour-blocking – another Spring/Summer trend. One of my favourite colours is blue as such a colour can make a person stand out – which is what I try to do with my style. Although the price is expensive, I would probably only wear these on special occasions and for summer day trips due to the material.

Maria Francesca Pepe Top with ‘LOVE’ Jewellery, £150 – Yes, it is £150 but for her first Topshop collection there is no doubt that Maria hasn’t pulled out all the stops with her pieces based on the concept of ‘Jewellery wear’. This grey vest top is perfect for both daytime and night-time as it can be dressed down with skinny jeans and brogues or can be glammed up with some black military shorts and heels. The best thing about this product though, is that the ‘LOVE’ jewellery can either be pressed onto the vest as studs or be hung on the necklace that comes with it depending what style you want to go for!

Nasir Mazhar Brass Comb, £45 – There is only 30 made of these babies and I couldn’t help but put this on my wish list when I sprawled across it! Nasir has created three brass combs which, to be honest, I would not actually use to comb my hair but I would use it for decoration! My favourite one has already sold out which was a in the shape of a wing comb, however this is my second favourite as it is more simplistic which I like.

If you are unfortunate enough to not be able to make it to London to check out the limited edition boutique first-hand, Topshop has most of the products available to buy here.

Be aware, the products are expensive but are worth the buy!

  1. It’s obvious the designer of the hair combs got his “inspiration” from Young&Ng’s collection of hair combs, which are thousand times more beautiful and were launched LAST YEAR. sad when a designer steals another designers idea and tries to pass it off as their own…www.youngandng.com
